My surname, Bos, is a very common surname in The Netherlands. Many non-related families with that surname can be found all over the country. My paternal ancestors, however, have always lived on an island in the south of Holland called "Hoeksche Waard". An unusual first name in our family, distinguishing our family Bos from other families through the ages, is Cent. 

The "Hoeksche Waard" is located between the cities of Rotterdam and Dordrecht.
