Rotterdamsche Courant, 7 January 1836

The eldest son of Samson Joseph Vos was Abraham Samson Vos who had died in 1816, at the age of 67. His wife was Ester Hartog, and they are the parents of merchant Salomon Abraham Vos, pedlars Aron Abraham Vos and Joseph Abraham Vos, and a daughter named Rachel.
On 30 July 1834 in Amsterdam, Rachel Vos (34) married Samson Joseph Peperwortel (34), widower of Kaatje Elias Kleerenmaker whom he had married in 1824. Rachel's marriage document describes the then 107-year-old Samson Joseph Vos as both paternal grandfather of the bride, and maternal grandfather of the groom.
