Wilhelm Kevelmann (1828-1905) was naturalised as a Dutch citizen

Wilhelm Kevelmann was born on 11 January 1828 in Diersford, a village in Germany, located between Xanten and Wesel. His parents are Gerhard Kevelmann and Mechtilde Gräff.
At the age of 27, on 7 December 1855 in Kralingen (now part of Rotterdam), Wilhelm married 31-year-old Clara Catharina Elisabeth van Beuzekom. She was born on 12 March 1824 in The Hague as daughter of carpenter Adrianus van Beuzekom. At that time, Wilhelm lived in Puttershoek and worked as a baker. On 15 April 1856 in Puttershoek Clara gave birth to a stillborn son.

In the 1880s Wilhelm Kevelmann was living in Zwijndrecht, The Netherlands. Wilhelm was naturalised as a Dutch citizen on 11 August 1892.

Wilhelm's elder sister, Adelheid Kevelmann, was born on 8 February 1825 in Diersford. Adelheid's husband was skipper Heinrich Engeln, born on 5 February 1830 in Baerl, northwest of Duisburg in Germany.
Adelheid Kevelmann and Heinrich Engeln had issue:

  • Wilhelm Engeln was born on 30 september 1855 in Rees, Germany.
  • August Engeln was born in Baerl on 18 November 1857. August Engeln applied for emigration to live with his uncle Wilhelm Kevelmann in Zwijndrecht near Dordrecht. Subsequently, he was a kipper and lived in Schiedam, west of Rotterdam. August died on 20 January 1885 in Millingen, The Netherlands, aged 27. 
  • Elisa Engeln was born on 21 September 1862 in Baerl.

Clara Catharina Elisabeth van Beuzekom died in Zwijndrecht on 3 November 1901, aged 77 years and 7 months.
On 2 July 1902, at the age of 74, Wilhelm Kevelmann married 59-year-old Adriaantje Gravendeel. She was born on 11 August 1842 in Puttershoek, Holland, as daughter of Marijgje de Geus (1800-1864) and her first husband Arie Gravendeel. Adriaantje Gravendeel was widow of Jacobus in 't Veld (1827-1887), son of Sijgje Struijk (1795-1842) and Aart in 't Veld (1792-1831). Aart's father is my ancestor Japik Aertsz. in 't Veld (1743-1808) who lived in Cillaarshoek, Holland.

Wilhelm Kevelmann was living in Oegstgeest, but died in the nearby city of Leyden, on 5 September 1905, aged 77. Wilhelm's widow, Adriaantje Gravendeel, died at the age of 82 on 12 March 1924 in Rijnsburg. Her death was reported by her son Arie in 't Veld
