Adam Strickeiser - also known as “Strekeijzern” - and Maria Schepens were married on 23 March 1794 in Raamsdonk, Brabant, The Netherlands. According to the marriage register, Strijkijzer was originally from “Berwinke” - Birwinken in the canton of Thurgau in Switzerland.
The bride, Maria Schepens, was baptised on June 10, 1764, in Raamsdonk, the daughter of Anthonij Schepens and Anna Timmermans. She was 66 years old and died on September 23, 1821, in Raamsdonk.

Maria Antonis Schepens gave birth to her youngest son Pieter Strijkijzer on 13 November 1801. He was baptised on the 15th in Raamsdonk.
At the age of 27, labourer Pieter Strijkijzer, living in Raamsdonk, was summoned to appear before the court in 's-Hertogenbosch, Brabant, The Netherlands. On 24 May 1828 Pieter Strijkijzer and Jan van Laarhoven had been fishing without a permit. They were caught red-handed while Pieter was on leave from military service with the 13th Infantry Division.
The fish caught was confiscated, and they were fined ƒ25.- and had to pay ƒ7.30 in legal costs.
On April 16, 1875, Pieter Strijkijzer, aged 73, died in Raamsdonk from the infirmity of old age. He was buried on the afternoon of the 17th.
